dont think about antivirus until you get one

Well, I got that tuneup I wanted when I inadvertently downloaded a nasty virus.  XP Antivirus 2008 looks just like an antivirus program but when it appeared out of nowhere with a blue desktop screen and a window embedded smack dab in the middle of my desktop screen, I knew id be here for a while. None of my antivirus/antispyware (adaware, spybot and AVG) blocked or cured it and really took over, blocking real antivirus websites and turning regular links into ad links. After some frustration surfing for an answer, it was time to get to business. Luckily I have more than one computer, so I grabbed my laptop to kick this things butt.

Following the instructions referred by cnets forum How to Remove XP Antivirus I was instructed through the download, setup and scan process of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and I have to tell ya, this is a kick butt little program. I downloaded the free trial and was totally impressed. I will tell you right now… I HATE antivirus and spyware scans for the mere fact that, they take FOREVER. This little program cleared this virus in about 3 minutes when nothing else would touch it. I also ran their free RogueRemover and it fixed a few things as well. What more can I say… It saved my ass.

So I decided to run it on my very clean laptop… just to see. Man, I didn’t know how much junk was on my computer. I got rid of it all and I feel all clean and shiny now VIRUS FREE! YAYYYYYY.

After all that, Im left with this thought… Someone out there has real talent, if only it was used for good and not evil.
