The Most Important Plugin on Earth

WordPress plugins are like yummy candy - I marvel at the new ones while coveting the old… until they die; ever useful and bringing me joy daily! Blog Optimization is a now breeze because of plugins, putting the self hosted WordPress Blogs at number one on the cms of choice list, what a relief. Building in html (even php) is for the BIRDS. WordPress is a ‘time savior’. Still, this is old news. Here’s the new.

(yet) Another amazing plugin for you (drum roll please)… the Related Posts Plugin!!!

Courtney Tuttle, on her internet marketing school blog, deems this plugin as the “most important WordPress plugin on earth, at least from an SEO standpoint.”

I have to agree.

Blog Automation is key when so much precious time should be spent writing, not messing with code and building pages. This plugin is right on when lending to the internal structure of your website. When done correctly this can get you double listings in google which in turn can double traffic. This takes the heavy brain work out of setting up a link structure.

The structure for achieving double listings is to have 2 pages on your site, optimized for the same keywords, with equal amounts of similar keywords on the page - linking to eachother. This plugin achieves that with absolutely no effort.

There are many related posts plugins to choose from. Courtney likes wasabis plugin, however I opted for WordPress 2.3 Related Posts. It uses wordpress tags to find related content. Add 1 line of php into your single.php page right under the_content, and voila! However you might want to search Wordpress’ plugins for other choices. This is the best one I found so far.
