Automate Your Blog Posts

Could it be? Is it true! I’ve been scouring the web to figure out how to automate my blog posts forever. I was looking anything that could perform future pinging, a way to upload many posts at once and have WordPress automatically publish two posts per day.

WordPress came with a built in solution. Edit the TimeStamp to publish on a future date… Hmm. Easy? No, theres a problem here. It pings when you hit Publish, not when the post appears. Ugh. WP2.1 sorta fixed it.

I wanted to slowly feed my blog without logging in every day, so it would do better in search engines. Ya know, taking vacations, driving in the country. That is - if I ever had the heart to leave my 2 new gigs of RAM - oh the torture.

Tried Smart Update Pinger, but it still didn’t ping on the future time stamp date. Didn’t solve my problem. So I waited.

Played with the idea of setting up an autoresponder to email my blog on future dates. NOW were getting creative, but email doesn’t keep all of the formatting desired in my posts. Again, waiting.

WordPress 2.1 seemed to fix the problem, but it still pinged the services when I edited my posts. No no, that’s no good.
